TBT: Attending the Casino themed ball/formal

Hi there!
since being on my long hiatus, I have yet to post how I attended a ball/formal back in May. So being that today is thursday, this will be a throwback thursday post!

I chose to wear a maxi dress with a side slit and I went minimal with the jewelry, only wearing a chunky necklace. I also ended up wearing a leather jacket over this because it was a little chilly outside. what do you think?!

DAY 1 of the KICK ASS DIET

Today, I have decided to embark on a 3-4 week journey of rejuvination. After a recent slew of unfortunate events, I began to reevaluate my priorities and where my concern has been laid thus far. I cocluded that I needed to be more selfish. I need some ME time, to better myself, hence the rejuvination journey. I'm cleansing myself from the inside  out, physically, mentally and emotionally. Today I tackled food and organization. After intricately planning out my every move, I got almost everything done and have never felt more accomplished. I cut back on added sugars, and ate so well, I can  feel myself radiating from the inside out. I hit the gym and took out my aggression at the body that I so despise in the mirror that I have never felt so strong, so bold, so powerful, all yet while feeling beautiful and basking in a shower of sweat. During this period, there is no negativity, no guilt just "try harder" and "don't give up".  If I can make it through week 1 then I have gotten to the top of the moutain. 1 day down, 20 more to go!

Dinner is served: half a potato, 1 egg white, chicken breast sirloin and corn on the cob.

I tried to take it back to my roots with this one. During our African Student Association Pageant, I chose wear a traditional iro and buba "blouse and wrapper"  attire. Although both the sleeves of the buba and the length of the iro are usually full length, I opted for the oleku style in which the sleeves of the buba only reaches he elbows and the length of the iro is to the knees. I accessorized with a clutch, a lot of jewelry, a gele, and heels!
